Here is the monthly gold price chart since 1999. The chart shows that gold is consolidating. I’m betting on an upward breakout just like in 2006.
Your posting of Steve Hanke’s article on why there will be no hyperinflation in the US is at odds with other economists such as John Williams of ShadowStats. I did find some odd things about the article such as his reference that hyperinflation occurs when an economy goes from a Controlled or Centrally planned one to a free market one. Really?
He leaves out reason for this change, i.e., the collapse of the centrally planned one. After which the Centrally planned creations (paper money) goes from artificial to real value.
He also mentions political incompetence. Well, we have that in spades.
A lot was omitted and / or selected. I would really like to hear an “Austrian” response still they alone seem to have real predictive insights.
