The Liberty Head Double Eagle contains .9675 ounce of gold and is composed of 90% gold and 10% copper by weight. Certified authentic NGC graded coins are available in various years and grades from MS-62 up.
Sometimes referred to as a “Coronet Double Eagle”, the coin, designed by James B. Longacre, the obverse features the head of Lady Liberty facing left with her hair pulled into a bun. The word “Liberty” is inscribed on her headband. The reverse features a heraldic eagle holding a double banner with an inscription reading “E Pluribus Unum”. Each of these NGC graded coins is encased in a protective sealed case displaying the year, grade, denomination, and NGC certification number.
