The Saint-Gaudens Double Eagles each contain .9675 ounces of gold and are composed of 90% gold and 10% copper by weight. Certified authentic PCGS graded coins are available in various years and grades from MS-62 up.
The obverse of the coin displays a striding Lady Liberty with lit torch and and olive branch her hands. From behind her shine the rays of the sun over the US Capitol Building. The reverse displays an eagle in flight over a rising sun.
The coin was designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and was minted by the United States Mint from 1907 until 1933.
Each coin has been graded and certified authentic by PCGS and comes in a protective enclosure which states the date, grade, and denomination of the coin as well as its unique PCGS number.
