Susan had her knee scoped on Thursday morning. She probably tore the cartilage during her daily marathon workouts on the Elliptical Machine, at the health club. Our friend, Paul Yellen, an outstanding orthopedic surgeon, squeezed her in on 24-hour notice. I must admit this procedure has come a long, long way. I had two knee operations in the past and this was Susan’s second procedure. But this time, it was done outpatient in their clinic. Just one hour after the 30-minute procedure, Susan walked to the car without a cane or crutches or assistance. By Sunday morning, she was walking nearly pain free and the doctor told her that in a week she can go back to the gym and “ease” into her workouts.
I have spent most of my time since the procedure, helping out and making her life as easy as possible. My column will resume on Tuesday or Wednesday, after we get settled in, in Aventura. The rest of the daily newsletter will be as interesting as usual. There is so much to think about now and things are changing by the day. I will keep you up to date!
