I think that it is becoming very clear that we are headed over a cliff in every way imaginable. All you need to do is look around, we are at the edge economically, financially, socially, geopolitically and morally. Let me help you “look around” at where I think we are.
Just this past week alone we were told that we had “solid” unemployment numbers with a job gain of 209,000. Really? When you break the numbers down it turns out that “older” workers are working harder than ever as evidenced by more elderly workers in the workforce than ever before. The age group of 25-54 LOST 142,000 during July, is this “growth?” Argentina defaulted and JP Morgan is buying their bonds because it seems that they may have sold a few CDS (credit default swaps) and may be on the hook for a few billion dollars. Manufacturing and construction spending numbers in the U.S. were dismal at the same time we were told that the economy grew by 4%.
Please understand that this “4%” number was calculated with less than a 2% inflation assumption, is there anybody out there that is experiencing less than 5% inflation much less more like 8-10%? It seems to me that our economic numbers are being made up as we go, a perfect example is this. New orders which in reality were the lowest of the year were “seasonally adjusted” and then reported as the highest of the year. Isn’t this the type of stuff that Russia and China did in years gone by?
The U.S. is engineering itself into a quarantined corner with sanctions on Russia and fines to large foreign institutions. What really struck a chord with me was a story that Germany is in secret talks with Russia to ratify the Crimean annexation in exchange for a long term natural gas guarantee. This is not confirmed news but it does make sense, perfect sense. The U.S. has spied on Germany including their President Angela Merkel. We are in the process of fining both Commerzbank and Deutsche Bank. The Fed even wants their own regulators inside of DB. And don’t forget, we “owe” some pretty big tonnage of gold to Germany that we are “dragging our feet” on for some reason …but it couldn’t be because the gold is gone, could it? Ask yourself, what happens to all of Europe were Germany to turn their back on the U.S.? Europe will be an overnight domino chain that shuns the dollar. By the way, Russia and India are now in talks to settle their direct trade in rubles and rupees with the dollar nowhere to be seen.
The “old world order” is crumbling. Just look at what is going on between the U.S. and Israel. We are now publicly scolding what was not long ago our most staunch ally on the planet. Israel’s largest TV station is sticking by a story they broke that President Obama and Mr. Netanyahu had a conversation where Israel basically defied the U.S. Both Israel and The White House have denied this but it certainly “smells” very true to me. Even if not true, Bibi Netanyahu one day later publicly told the U.S. and I quote, “Do not ever second guess me again,” can you ever imagine an Israeli Prime Minister saying this? Another past ally, Turkey has turned their back on the U.S. and just loaded their 5th supertanker with Kurdish oil which will almost certainly be sold and settled without dollars. The icing on the geopolitical cake this past week was India not agreeing to the WTO trade deal and letting the deadline pass without signing. We are fast becoming a political pariah and one that from a business standpoint, no one trusts anymore.
Over the past two to three weeks, more and more stories are surfacing that the U.S. plans some sort of “first strike” in a nuclear fashion. If true, I can only say that the psychopaths who are running the show are more insane than I have given them credit for. I do understand it however. The economy is crumbling and the “mindset” of the public is a growing disbelief. I think that the average Joe out there is looking at what is happening with our border situation and sees that it’s not a “mistake” or an honest error which has him questioning other topics. The problem is that “average Joe” is beginning to connect some of the dots and in my opinion will need some “distraction” to disrupt the process.
History has shown us that wars are fought over the same disagreements time after time. Wars are almost always fought over religion, land, energy, money (gold) or deceit (broken promises), or some combination. Do we not have each and every single one of these topics mixed together in the current pressure cooker? We have the Muslim/Christian/Jewish tension. We have ISIS occupying large parts of Syria and Iraq, the Gaza situation and of course the Ukraine. These conflicts all include religion, land and energy. We have China and Russia pulling the BRICS away from the U.S. with trade, energy and currency deals.
As for the “money” and “deceit” parts, these exist and both have been “exported” by the ton from the U.S. Our allies don’t know from day to day where we stand. They no longer know what to believe, will we honor deals? Will deals change? Will we do what we say we will or do what we say we will not? I know that the previous sentence was confusing, it was meant to be because that is what foreign diplomats are dealing with.
I have read an unconfirmed report that 139 of the world’s nations are already in agreement to abandon the dollar. If this is the case, it is not necessary to enlist any more nations as the “bloc” is spread big and far enough to move any time that they choose. A story like this would not be announced ahead of time with the expectation of the world just humming along like nothing happened. I personally believe that this is very probable and close to what is actually happening, a complete “break” away from the U.S. and western financial systems is perfectly logical leading into some sort of reset. I believe that the reset will occur without any input or guidelines from the U.S. In my opinion, the “re set” will be imposed on the U.S. in a take or leave it fashion and this is the danger.
The danger is that the U.S. ends up “kicking the table over.” This I think is the fear of foreigners and the greatest fear (cause) of those who are warning of WWIII. Make no mistake, World War III has already started in many forms, especially trade and finance. The hope is that it does not spread and become hot with live fire. I am sad to say that I think the most likely scenario is a global war and one that is started by the U.S. The U.S. is not going to go down quietly, lose power and become a 3rd world nation without kicking and screaming.
Thursday and Friday were very bad days at the end of a very bad week for the stock market in the U.S. I believe it portends wild volatility not even seen in 1987, 2000 or 2008. In my opinion “money as we know it will cease to exist” in an overnight or weekend event. Those who have prepared for this will be nowhere near prepared and those not prepared will be helpless. This will be my next topic.
I don’t doubt anything you say and with the present state of American politico think there is nowhere to go, but to hot war.
There have been some bad times for America in the past, but never in history as I know it, has the writing on the wall been worse for our future.
I personally don’t see any exit plan from her.
I agree Bill. How can there be an exit plan with “policy makers” we have controlling and guiding everything toward destruction of this Nation. We must conclude that “Destruction” of our Nation has been the “Plan” all along.
yes.
Bill,
Are you suggesting that JP Morgan is buying Argentinian bonds in secret compliance with its CDS obligation so that the CDS are not formally triggered by the default and cause panic? I would not be surprised in the least if CDS will not be allowed to trigger upon default, i.e. that buyers of CDS bought worthless paper, because the chain reaction of cascading defaults throughout the financial system will not be allowed to commence, even if it takes a redefinition of “default” to keep it from happening.
yes, it is possible and it would also give them bonds to deliver against CDS that they may have purchased as hedges.
Doug… the CDS sham has already revealed itself. Only in very limited cases are these financial insurance policies allowed to pay off. If it looks as if the financial house will be brought down, the definition of “default” is changed slightly until it won’t. Then, with no default occurring, no payment is due on the CDS. I wonder at the credulity of those who buy this crap and then actually expect it to have some value when they need it. It won’t because it can’t. But hope seems to triumph over experience in most cases and companies continue to buy this worthless drek instead of simply managing their businesses in a proper and fiscally conservative manner.
exactly Ed.
Bill,
I believe you are right on as usual.
Folks should go to the library and check out “The Rise And Fall Of The Roman Empire”. You will think you are reading about American history (and you are)!
The reason the USA will not have an honorable decline is because our leaders are NOT honorable people. Scumbags is a more accurate title. And yes, I believe we are in the beginning of WWIII. If any one can not see we are in the process of starting it, then they need to go back to bed.
Well, I’m off to buy advance tickets for the soon to come showing of “The Fall and Collapse of America” which is to be released very soon.
thanks Farrell.
RF, can you give us specifics/website on this movie coming out?
“The reason the USA will not have an honorable decline is because our leaders are NOT honorable people.”
Well, gosh darn it. WHO put these scumbags in office, anyway? Who, indeed?
I personally believe the US military is waking up and will have the good sense to refrain from being forced into conflict. Every military is made up of individuals. Since we pay these people to protect us, I would hope they realize a first strike would do anything but that.
The USA probably deserves what it will get due to its arrogance and greed. At least I hope the people who have made the decisions to be arrogant and greedy definitely get theirs!
and thus the “cleansing” of the upper echelons of the military over the last 3 years including 550 current majors this week.
The Egyptian military showed us how to handle POS politicians but apparently we are not listening. 🙁
Another outstanding article there, “dollar” Bill. One can only hope that many more Americans will wake the hell up as a result of your efforts, and realize the necessity of acquiring those silver Dimes, Quarters, Half Dollars and Dollars for obtaining Life’s necessities when the Defecation Hits the Oscillation. And you are likely correct about overall preparedness, however I suspect that there a few who are significantly more prepared for all contingencies. Cheers, S. Rex
yes, some, few have most of the bases covered. Can you imagine life without electricity or clean water?
“Can you imagine life without electricity or clean water?”
Yes, actually, I can. It would look a lot like some parts of rural Mexico, in fact.
The trouble with America is that its leaders have lost their moral compass and its citizens have become (generally) dumbed down, slothful, obese and weak.
WW3 has already started and the USA is isolating itself by putting sanctions on other countries.
Why would they not come up with an alternative to the $USD when the USA continues to print them ad infinitum?
As for nuclear war…lets hope not.
The only way to prepare for that scenario is to move to southern parts of countries in the southern hemisphere BEFORE IT HAPPENS.
They say that the south of Chile is beautiful and not terribly expensive… yet. The seafood is terrific, the wine inexpensive and delicious, and the ladies friendly.
🙂
Yes. Pretty cold down there though. Valparaiso is nice. some good surf too if thats your thing.
Personally I would go NZ, OZ, Madagascar or South Africa.
OZ is my pick…hey I live there
I lost all hope of the military stepping in after general patraeus kept his mouth shut on Benghazi. People in these positions must know the truth but they say nothing. They must have been paid off with cash and big pensions. I guess the ones that would stand up for the citizens are let go from military . I’m sure it’s a relatively small group of powerful people running the show. Hey, hopefully after this cleansing we can have an honest system, the kind of country we all thought we had when we were kids in elementary school. I know it’s a stretch.
I was in 5th grade when the great scam took place…only a very few at the time knew or understood what had happened.
As a long time reader tonight’s article is down right scary. I have been preparing but probably wont be totally prepared. My wife spent 2 yrs in the peace corps in Paraguay. She lived without fresh water and electricity for those 2 years.
She tells great stories on how to live like that.I spent many years in the Caribbean on sailboats rationing fresh water and longing for electricity. As we are older now I would miss those necessities. We could work around those, but I shudder to think what our society wold be like. Its hard to imagine even the thought of nuclear weapons, and a first strike by the US is beyond comprehension
and they will need something to point a finger at.
The Bank for International Settlements’ scheme to embroil the world in WWIII, crash the Federal Reserve Note, transfer US military might to China, and install a one world
currency has failed

Hi Bill:
Any luck getting that personal e-mail I sent to you? I still get the undeliverable returned mail message from yahoo even though I am sending it to your milesfranklin.com address and sending it from AOL. This is yet another article falls right in line with what I sent to you. I just think you may find what i sent at least interesting. 🙂
Blood in the streets coming soon. Wait till the medicaid checks stop coming.
Precious metals are important, but so are bullets. Where will you put them
when Marshal Law is declared. Stop stacking already and start loading, storing
and hiding.
You mentioned the similarities and reasons for all the wars. That is a brilliant analysis. Oh how I wish the herded 90% of the people realized this. All those reasons are true but what do you think about putting it more simply in that we have the combination of three things…
1) huge populations
combined at a time of
2) a huge debt bubble that is blown to capacity.
combined with
3) immoral/corruption of people who ONLY thinking of their own self interests.
The way I see it is… The ONLY way to pay this debt would be with hard assets and natural resourses. But there is not enough resource left given the population + the debt part of this. this would require sacrifice and selflessness. but without the morality, the strife and tensions are following the natural course of cause and effect. So Nature is in charge at this point and natural selection may come into play.
The moral issues come into play in that there is not enough moral quality to offset such a dilemna in that few will work hard and/or be willing to help one another but instead trample everyone else over (or just survive in desperation) to get what they need or want…. this all escalates the problem.
Unfortuneately, some who say or might be willing to help their neighbor, have been beaten down by the corrupt leaders to the point where they themselves are poor or have lost so much freedom that they cannot. So the morality and corrupt effects all levels of humanity.
So hee we are, faced with the natural man/carnal man and the results of his actions have left us in this state. It would take a miracle to get out of this mess…literally. It took a miracle to deliver the Israelites/Hebrews out of Egyption tyranny…. this was such a bad situation, it tooks God’s intervention which he did working through Moses.
Those who are Christians have a record of these things happening over and over all thru Biblical times. The people become corrupt and are near destruction, reach out to God and he sends a deliverer or delivers us Himself. This is likely the worse the world has seen and we don’t even know it yet. So far, Nitlers threat still sounds worse. But I think this is and will be the worse in human history.
Yet if it is the end, we know the greatest deliverer of all is at hand. It will be hard, likely years of getting worse and worse…..but keep the faith that is WAY more than a natural man can endure….rely on heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ. This combined with temporal, intellectual, and spiritual preparation, may we all very well still find happiness , peace, and joy in these coming trying times… amoung akk the chaos with our families and friends during the coming times of strife.
The religious fighting I truly see as just an excuse… still based on corruption and immorality or carnal men. I do not believe extremism fits into Christianity, Judaeism, Hindi, Buddism, or Muslim… etc. That is the way I see it.
there are enough natural resources, they just are not priced high enough to ration them.
